Project Details

HPE ProLiant Gen10 DL380 server X 2 pcs.

Hardware Config:

These Hewlett Packard Enterprise ProLiant Gen10 DL380 blade servers come with 64GB RAM (upgradable)  | HPE Ethernet 10 / 25GB 2-port running on Intel Xeon Silver 4210R @ 2.40Ghz (20CPUs).

The hardware for both servers was optimized to 128GB RAM | 4TB SSD SATA drives X 3 pcs  | 1TB SAS drive X 2 pcs | 4GB NVIDIA GPU.

Software Config:

All server operating systems used for these servers are Windows Server 2019 for hosts and virtual machines (hosted on Hyper-V). Other configurations include Windows Server Updates Services (WSUS), Backup Server Services, Remote Desktop Service (RDS) provisioning - (CAL), Discrete Device Assignment (DDA), etc.

The environment is a domain setup comprising of a domain controller hosted on a VM. On the DC are also installed DHCP and DNS roles.  Other VM host role-specific workloads include; call server for VPN remote connections, ERP server, and other independent production workloads.

It is worthy of note to highlight that a hardware RAID-1 setup was configured on the disks. This essentially mirror-paired 2 single disks to make a volume. In total were 2 pairs of disks making 2 logical volumes and the fifth disk was standalone specifically to configure an internal backup, giving an additional layer of fault tolerance.
