A key player within a small team, responsible for administering systems, servers and networks (physically and remotely) for nine branches across West Africa. Also responsible for providing premium technical support across these branches for 400+ users and 40+ servers. Primarily serving as the last escalation point for almost all technical/support challenges. Reports to the IT Manager.
Key Achievements
Supported the successful enrollment of 400+ endpoint devices to Azure Active Directory (MS Entra ID) in Q1 2024.
Supported the migration of 600+ end users’ emails from cPanel to M365 (Exchange Online).
Proposed and implemented a thin client environment for the Factory’s manufacturing lines, thereby reducing cost of acquiring and maintaining over 35 desktops by 75%.
Proposed and implemented an upscale production server upgrade for core branches of the business to cater for 99.95% availability and scalability. Also implemented a procedure to reduce the mean time to recovery (MTTR) of a totally crashed production sever to less than 20minutes for an entire recovery cycle.
Planned and implemented a remote access VPN solution on Sophos XG135 for 3 branches, so remote users can securely access the LAN resources working from home.
Recommended and contributed largely to the IT compliance and governance strategy in compliance with ISO 9001 (QMS) and ISO 27001 (ISMS).
Key Responsibilities
Identity and Access Management for cloud and on-prem users (ADDS, Azure AD – now Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, RBAC, Privileged Identity Management, etc.)
Planning, deployment, and support of key infrastructure (servers, storage, networks, EUC) across all West African branches of the business.
Windows server deployment and support (ADDS, WSUS, RDS, licensing, Hyper-V, etc.).
Linux installation and support with GUI and CLI (networking, security, user administration, backup, storage management, file management, etc.).
Virtualization of physical servers using VMware, VirtualBox, and Hyper-V, backing up of VHDs/VDIs, and taking/restoring system snapshots when required.
Hardware optimization of high-end HPE server builds (racking, CPU, power pack, RAM, SSD array, network card, fiber port, GPU, etc.)
Active Directory administration (users, computers, OUs, GPOs).
Configuration of DHCP scope, DNS, promotion/demotion of DCs, working with FSMOs, etc.
Implementation and monitoring of backup and recovery solutions (local/cloud).
Management of MS Azure infrastructure and cloud resources (Azure VMs, load balancers, Storage Accounts, Azure Virtual Desktops, Azure AD, etc.).
Direct supervision of L1 Support Engineers, and resolution of all escalated requests from them.
Network installation and administration. Configuration and management of networking equipment (routers, managed switches, patch panels, etc.).
Provision of support for MS 365 products (inclusive of Outlook, Teams, Projects) and MS and Windows account issues.
Regular implementation of upscale IT security and general computer user policies.
Modification of scripts on Ubuntu Servers to achieve desired results.
Administration of Kaspersky Security Cloud Center for 400+ connected devices.
Liaising with vendors/external partners (service providers and suppliers) to ensure that SLAs are met and that the interest of my organization is always adequately represented.
Supporting Sophos XGS Series Firewall (VPN| Firewall | WAN | Authentication).
