Outsourced to a high-profile hospitality group of companies (The Blowfish Group) and served as a single point of support for a cluster of physically distributed business subsidiaries. Responsible for supporting over 150 users on all hardware and software-related issues. Monitored and enhanced existing IT infrastructure with core focus on availability, reliability, scalability, security, system integrity and data confidentiality. Directly reported to the group’s CTO. 

Key Achievements

• Implemented a secure over-the-internet access to on-premises local files/folders using Microsoft SharePoint Online 2016 for the organization.

• Restructured the company’s server room setup, provided a detailed network blueprint for the entire infrastructure. Installed upgrades/patches for servers, established system monitoring, etc.

• Successfully upgraded HDDs to SSDs, implemented RAID5 on core production Dell PowerEdge blade servers for increased disk-failure tolerance, thereby making the drives hot-swappable even during production. 

• Optimized the production Dell PowerEdge blade servers to have dual power inputs coming from different power sources. This 100% resolved a historic problem of downtime caused by power surges and outages.

Key Responsibilities

• Administered domain users on Windows Servers 2012 Active Directory for all users (user creation, deletion, and policy implementation).

• Routinely monitored and optimized 8 mission-critical servers running the organization's core ERPs for a 99.9% availability. Implemented a structured disaster recovery plan for server infrastructure.

• Supported about 150+ users on various Windows/Linux OS.

• Provided a robust support for company's IT infrastructure (ERP software, hubs, fiber optic links, wireless routers, switches, access points, hubs, printers, and all LAN devices etc.).

• Administered Microsoft Office 365 portal for all O365 users. Created users, assigned license, installed Office 365 products and setup Outlook emails for users.

• Administered Cyberoam UTM and Hyper-V (Server 2012 virtualization) for the organization.
